Shernell Layne

Shernell is a Technical Manager at Lallemand Biofuels and Distilled Spirits and responsible for providing technical support to distilleries in the Caribbean and the USA. She has over 17 years of experience in the distilled spirits industry. Prior to joining Lallemand, she worked at the West Indies Rum Distillery Limited to manage, operate, and optimize the fermentation and distillations processes for neutral spirits and rum production.

Shernell holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering, a M.Sc. degree in Advanced Chemical Process Design and Chemical Engineering, and a Diploma in Distilling. She is a chartered member of the Barbados Association of Professional Engineers, sits on the examination board of the Institute of Brewing and Distilling, presents at the Alcohol School, Siebel Craft Distilling course, and other various industry events.
